M.Chapoutier Belleruche Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2016 – $18 at Cloudwine. A rare great white from the Provence, made from Grenache blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette and Bourboulenc. The 2017 is rich and full of flavour with apricots dominating, at its best this summer. 94 points.

Kilikanoon Killermans Run Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2018 – $17 at Summer Hill Wine. A stunning GSM from a great vintage at a bargain price. Clare Valley generosity and depth of flavour. You couldn’t ask for more. 94 points.

Deutz Marlborough Cuvee Brut NV – $20 at Kemenys. This has long been a favourite of ours but really hard to find, even though it’s distributed by Pernod Ricard Australia who own Jacobs Creek among other famous brands. Huon Hooke’s review at the link is on the money. 95 points.
