Best ‘Cool’ Wines Under $20

By ‘cool’ we mean interesting and different wines, and there are some serious wines in this list from names you’ve probably never heard before.

Sample of 3 wines

1. Arrogant Frog Lilly Pad Viognier 2012 – $9.50 at Dan M’s. Hard to fault for the money. Not a great Viognier but a pretty nice every day drinking wine for the money.

2. Galli Tempranillo Grenache Mourvedre 2012 – $18 at Different Drop. Lots of interesting goodies here, plenty of flavour but nothing heavy-handed. Our kind of red.

3. 2014 Lock and Key Single Vineyard Tumbarumba Pinot Noir – $13 at Summerhillwineshop. Made by Jason Brown at Moppity in the hilltops near Young in NSW. These wines offer exceptional value, and the Pinot is no exception.
